Teqball World Championship

The Brunei National Teqball Team recently showcased their skills at the 2023 World Teqball Championships held in Bangkok, Thailand, from November 29 to December 3, 2023. The prestigious event featured top teqball athletes from around the globe competing in both singles and doubles categories.

  • November 29 to December 1: Hua Mak Arena (group and knockout stages)

Schedule on November 28, 2023:

  • 12:05 AM: Arrival
  • 8:30 AM: Training session
  • 3:00 PM: Registration confirmation
  • 4:00 PM: Training session
  • 5:00 PM: Draw and press conference
  • 6:40 PM: Official training session

Preparation: In preparation for the championship, the Brunei National Teqball Team underwent centralized training under the association, held twice a week at the Multi-Purpose Hall, KSNHB Berakas. Training sessions took place from 7 to 10 PM every Monday and Wednesday. In addition to these centralized sessions, athletes also conducted individual and group training independently.

Results:

  • Singles (Group I): Muhd Azri Abdul Harith advanced to the next round. In the Top-32, he faced an Italian player and was defeated, finishing the championship ranked 17th, sharing this position with 15 other players.
  • Doubles (Group H): The national doubles team, comprising Ismail ANG and Muhd Aliffuddin Haji Jamaluddin, finished 3rd in their group and did not advance past the group stage.

The Brunei National Teqball Team demonstrated commendable effort and sportsmanship throughout the competition. Their participation in the 2023 World Teqball Championships highlights their dedication to the sport and their potential for future success on the international stage.
