Brunei Teqball Association Participates in National Anti-Doping Briefing

The Brunei Darussalam Teqball Association (BDTA) recently took part in an Anti-Doping Briefing organized by the Brunei Darussalam Anti-Doping Committee (BDADC) through its Anti-Doping Education Unit. The session brought together key national sports bodies, including the Brunei Darussalam Athletics Federation (BDAF) and the Brunei Darussalam Karate Federation (BRUKAF), as part of a coordinated effort to strengthen integrity across Brunei’s sporting landscape.

The briefing was designed to reinforce awareness and ensure strict compliance with the Brunei Darussalam Anti-Doping Rules 2021, as well as the World Anti-Doping Agency (WADA) Code. It provided a comprehensive overview of anti-doping regulations and expectations, with a focus on safeguarding fair play and athlete accountability.

Participants were guided through critical areas such as Anti-Doping Rule Violations (ADRVs), the risks and consequences associated with prohibited substances, and the proper procedures involved in doping control. A strong emphasis was also placed on the principle of strict liability, reinforcing that athletes are ultimately responsible for any substances found in their bodies, regardless of intent.

For BDTA, this initiative is aligned with its broader commitment to professionalizing the sport of teqball in Brunei and ensuring that its athletes compete with integrity at both regional and international levels. As teqball continues to gain recognition globally—including its inclusion in major multi-sport events—compliance with anti-doping standards is no longer optional; it is a strategic necessity.

The association remains fully committed to upholding clean sport principles and will continue to work closely with relevant authorities to educate and prepare its athletes, coaches, and officials.

This briefing marks another important step forward in building a transparent, ethical, and high-performance sporting ecosystem in Brunei Darussalam.
